ข้อเดียวที่ต้องรู้เพิ่ม คือแอปเวอร์ชัน Android ใช้แผนที่ของ Google ซึ่ง Google เก็บข้อมูลทางเทคนิค บางอย่างจากเครื่องของคุณโดยตรง ด้วยเหตุนี้ฉลากบนหน้าร้าน Google Play จึงระบุว่ามีการแชร์ข้อมูล กับบุคคลที่สาม เรื่องนี้อธิบายไว้ครบในหัวข้อ “แผนที่และบริการของบุคคลที่สาม” ด้านล่าง ส่วนแอปเวอร์ชัน iOS ไม่มีเรื่องนี้

ตำแหน่งของคุณ

ใช้เพื่อแสดงตำแหน่งบนแผนที่ คำนวณระยะทางไปยังจุดบริการ และนำทาง แอปขอตำแหน่งเฉพาะขณะใช้งาน (While Using the App) เท่านั้น เมื่อคุณสั่งนำทาง แอปจะส่งพิกัดจุดเริ่มต้นและจุดหมายไปยังเซิร์ฟเวอร์ของเราเพื่อคำนวณเส้นทางเดิน พิกัดดังกล่าวไม่ถูกผูกกับบัญชีหรือตัวตนของคุณ และไม่ถูกนำไปใช้เพื่อการโฆษณา

กล้องของเครื่อง

ใช้เฉพาะเมื่อคุณเปิดโหมด AR เพื่อแสดงภาพจากกล้องซ้อนกับตำแหน่งสถานที่รอบตัว แอปไม่บันทึก ไม่จัดเก็บ และไม่ส่งภาพหรือวิดีโอออกจากเครื่องของคุณ แอปจะขอสิทธิ์กล้องเมื่อคุณกดเข้าโหมด AR เท่านั้น ถ้าคุณไม่อนุญาต ส่วนอื่นของแอปยังใช้งานได้ตามปกติ

เข็มทิศและเซ็นเซอร์การหมุนของเครื่อง

ใช้แสดงทิศที่คุณกำลังหันบนแผนที่ และจัดวางป้ายสถานที่ในโหมด AR ค่าที่อ่านได้ประมวลผลในเครื่องของคุณ ไม่ถูกส่งออกไปที่ใด

ข้อมูลการเชื่อมต่อ

เมื่อแอปเรียกข้อมูล (เช่น กิจกรรม จุดบริการ เส้นทาง) เซิร์ฟเวอร์และผู้ให้บริการโครงสร้างพื้นฐาน จะบันทึกข้อมูลทางเทคนิคตามปกติ เช่น หมายเลขไอพี เวลา และรายการที่เรียก เพื่อความปลอดภัยของระบบและป้องกันการใช้งานผิดปกติ เก็บไว้ไม่เกิน 30 วัน

กล้องจราจรในพื้นที่

ภาพในส่วนนี้มาจากกล้องของสถาบันเอง ซึ่งติดตั้งครอบคลุมพื้นที่สาธารณะภายในสถาบัน ภาพถูกลดความละเอียดลงโดยตั้งใจจนไม่สามารถระบุตัวบุคคลได้ และไม่ใช่ระบบเฝ้าระวังบุคคล แอปไม่บันทึกและไม่จัดเก็บภาพใด ๆ ทั้งนี้ภาพเปิดให้ดูได้เฉพาะบางช่วงเวลาเท่านั้น

ตำแหน่งรถ Shuttle

แอปแสดงตำแหน่งของรถ Shuttle ตามเวลาจริง ข้อมูลนี้เป็นตำแหน่งของตัวรถ ไม่ใช่ข้อมูลของบุคคล และไม่มีการระบุตัวผู้โดยสาร

• ไม่มีการสมัครสมาชิก ไม่เก็บชื่อ อีเมล เบอร์โทร หรือรหัสนักศึกษา
• ไม่ติดตามตำแหน่งเมื่อคุณไม่ได้เปิดแอป
• ไม่มีชุดเครื่องมือวิเคราะห์พฤติกรรมผู้ใช้หรือโฆษณาฝังอยู่ในแอป นอกจากข้อมูลที่ชุดพัฒนาแผนที่ของ Google บนเวอร์ชัน Android เก็บของมันเอง ตามที่อธิบายไว้ในหัวข้อแผนที่
• ไม่ขาย ไม่แลกเปลี่ยน และไม่ส่งต่อข้อมูลของคุณให้บุคคลที่สามเพื่อการตลาด

iOS ใช้แผนที่ของ Apple

แอปเวอร์ชัน iOS ใช้ Apple Maps (MapKit) ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของระบบปฏิบัติการ ไม่ใช่ชุดพัฒนา ของบุคคลที่สามที่เราฝังเข้าไปในแอป แอปเวอร์ชัน iOS ไม่มีชุดพัฒนาของบุคคลที่สามอยู่เลยแม้แต่ตัวเดียว การแสดงแผนที่อยู่ภายใต้นโยบายความเป็นส่วนตัวของ Apple

Android ใช้แผนที่ของ Google

แอปเวอร์ชัน Android ใช้ Google Maps SDK ซึ่งเป็นชุดพัฒนาของ Google ที่ฝังไปกับตัวแอป Google ประกาศเองว่าชุดพัฒนานี้เก็บข้อมูลต่อไปนี้จากเครื่องผู้ใช้

• ข้อมูลประกอบคำขอ เช่น รุ่นและยี่ห้อของเครื่อง เวอร์ชันระบบปฏิบัติการ เวอร์ชันของชุดพัฒนา และจำนวนผลลัพธ์ที่ส่งกลับ
• ร่องรอยการทำงาน (stack trace) และสถิติการล่ม เมื่อเกิดข้อผิดพลาดภายในโค้ดของชุดพัฒนาเอง
• หมายเลขไอพี เพื่อให้ Google เข้าใจการใช้งานชุดพัฒนา
• ตัวระบุนิรนามเฉพาะของ Maps SDK ที่ Google สร้างขึ้นเพื่อนับจำนวนผู้ใช้รายวัน
• การโต้ตอบกับแผนที่ เช่น การเลื่อนและการซูม

ข้อมูลชุดนี้ส่งจากเครื่องของคุณไปยัง Google โดยตรง ไม่ผ่านเซิร์ฟเวอร์ของเรา เราไม่เห็น ไม่ได้รับสำเนา และไม่ได้นำไปใช้ทำอะไรทั้งสิ้น และเราไม่มีสวิตช์ให้คุณปิด เพราะชุดพัฒนาของ Google ไม่ได้เปิดทางไว้

ทำไมฉลากบน Google Play จึงเขียนว่าแชร์ข้อมูล

สัญญาของ Google Maps Platform กำหนดว่าความสัมพันธ์ระหว่าง Google กับผู้พัฒนาแอป เป็นแบบผู้ควบคุมข้อมูลทั้งสองฝ่าย (Controller-Controller) กล่าวคือ Google ใช้ข้อมูลนี้ เพื่อวัตถุประสงค์ของ Google เอง ไม่ได้ประมวลผลตามคำสั่งของเรา ตามกติกาของ Google Play การส่งข้อมูลไปยังผู้รับที่มีสถานะเช่นนี้ต้องประกาศว่าเป็น การแชร์กับบุคคลที่สาม ฉลาก “ความปลอดภัยของข้อมูล” บนหน้าร้าน Google Play จึงขึ้นหัวข้อการแชร์ข้อมูล

ฉลากนั้นไม่มีช่องให้เขียนคำอธิบาย เราจึงเขียนไว้ตรงนี้ว่า ข้อมูลที่ถูกแชร์ทั้งหมดมาจากชุดพัฒนาแผนที่ของ Google ไม่ได้มาจากโค้ดที่เราเขียน และไม่ได้มาถึงเรา ส่วนโค้ดของแอปเราเองยังคงไม่เก็บข้อมูลที่ระบุตัวคุณ ไม่มีบัญชีผู้ใช้ ไม่มีเครื่องมือวิเคราะห์พฤติกรรม และไม่มีโฆษณา ตามที่เขียนไว้ข้างต้น ผู้ใช้ iOS ไม่ได้รับผลจากข้อนี้ เพราะแอปเวอร์ชัน iOS ไม่มี Google Maps อยู่เลย

คุณปิดสิทธิ์ตำแหน่งหรือกล้องได้ตลอดเวลาจากการตั้งค่าของเครื่อง แอปยังใช้งานได้ เพียงแต่จะไม่แสดงตำแหน่งของคุณและนำทางจากตำแหน่งปัจจุบันไม่ได้ หากคุณอยู่นอกพื้นที่ สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง สามารถเปิด “โหมดสำรวจ” ในหน้าตั้งค่าเพื่อทดลองใช้งานได้

แอปนี้ให้ข้อมูลสถานที่และกิจกรรมของสถาบัน ไม่ได้มุ่งเก็บข้อมูลจากเด็ก และไม่มีการเก็บข้อมูลที่ระบุตัวบุคคลจากผู้ใช้ทุกช่วงอายุ

The app has no accounts, collects no names or other identifying information, shows no advertising, and does not track you across apps or websites.

There is one thing to add: the Android version uses Google's maps, and Google collects certain technical data straight from your device. That is why the Google Play store listing says data is shared with a third party. The “Maps and third parties” section below explains it in full. The iOS version is not affected.

Your location

To show where you are on the map, measure distances to facilities, and give walking directions. Location is requested only While Using the App. When you ask for directions, the app sends the start and destination coordinates to our server to compute a walking route. Those coordinates are not linked to any account or identity and are never used for advertising.

Device camera

Used solely while you have AR view open, to draw nearby places over the camera image. Nothing is recorded, stored, or transmitted off your device. The app asks for camera permission only when you open AR; if you decline, the rest of the app works normally.

Compass and device rotation sensors

Used to show which way you are facing on the map and to place the labels in AR. The readings are processed on your device and are never sent anywhere.

Connection data

When the app requests data (events, facilities, routes), our server and infrastructure providers keep ordinary technical logs such as IP address, timestamp and the endpoint requested, for security and abuse prevention, retained for up to 30 days.

Campus traffic cameras

These images come from the institute's own cameras, which cover public areas of the campus. The resolution is deliberately reduced so that a person cannot be identified, and this is not a surveillance system. The app records and stores no image, and the view is available during limited hours only.

Shuttle positions

The app shows the live position of the shuttle vehicles. This is vehicle data, not information about any person, and no passenger is identified.

• No sign-up; no name, email, phone number or student ID is collected.
• No background or continuous location tracking.
• No analytics or advertising SDK is embedded in the app, beyond what Google's map kit on the Android version collects on its own, as described in the maps section.
• Your data is never sold, traded, or shared with third parties for marketing.

iOS uses Apple's maps

The iOS version uses Apple Maps (MapKit), which is part of the operating system rather than a third-party kit we embedded. The iOS version contains no third-party SDK at all. The map display is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Android uses Google's maps

The Android version uses the Google Maps SDK, a Google kit shipped inside the app. Google states that this kit collects the following from a user's device:

• request metadata such as device model and brand, OS version, the SDK build and version, and the number of results returned;
• stack traces and crash metrics, when something fails inside the kit's own code;
• the IP address, so Google can understand how the kit is used;
• a Maps SDK-specific pseudonymous identifier Google generates to count daily users of the kit;
• map interactions, such as panning and zooming.

All of this goes from your device straight to Google. It does not pass through our server, we never see it, receive a copy of it, or use it for anything. We cannot offer you a switch to turn it off, because Google's kit does not provide one.

Why the Google Play listing says data is shared

The Google Maps Platform contract puts Google and the app developer in a controller-to-controller relationship: Google uses this data for its own purposes, not on our instructions. Under Google Play's rules, sending data to a recipient in that position must be declared as sharing with a third party, so the Data safety label on the Google Play listing carries a data-sharing heading.

That label has no room for an explanation, so here it is: everything shared comes from Google's map kit, not from code we wrote, and none of it reaches us. Our own code still collects nothing that identifies you: no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, as stated above. iOS users are not affected, because the iOS version has no Google Maps in it.

Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy, Google publishes the list of what the kit collects on its Maps SDK for Android data disclosure page, and the terms covering Google's maps are in our terms of use.

You can revoke location or camera permission at any time in your device settings. The app keeps working; it simply cannot show your position or route from where you are. If you are away from campus, turn on “Explore mode” in Settings to try the app.

The app provides campus place and event information. It is not directed at collecting data from children, and it collects no personally identifying data from users of any age.
